Trademark registration

Registration of your business’s name and logo, with availability and class checks before filing, and protection against copying.

The name and logo of your business are among its most valuable assets. Registering them as a trademark allows you to stop anyone using an identical or similar mark for identical or similar services.

We explain in detail the procedure, the choice of classes and the form of the mark, and we take the steps needed for your application to proceed smoothly, in Greece or abroad.

How we work

  1. Availability search: we check whether there are identical or similar marks that could block registration.
  2. Choice of classes: for food and beverage businesses usually Class 43 (food and drink services), plus any others needed for your products or services.
  3. Filing: with the Trademarks Directorate of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (ΟΒΙ) or, for protection throughout the European Union, with the EUIPO.
  4. Monitoring: oppositions by third parties, registration and renewals.

Judicial and out-of-court protection

If someone is using your name or logo, or if you are accused of infringing someone else’s mark, we represent you in and out of court.

Frequently asked questions

How long does trademark protection last?

National (Greek) and EU trademarks are protected for ten years from filing, and protection is renewed every ten years.

Is a distinctive title (διακριτικός τίτλος) in the General Commercial Registry (ΓΕΜΗ) enough?

A distinctive title gives limited protection. A trademark gives an exclusive right for the goods and services stated in the application, which is why describing them correctly matters as much as choosing the class. It is the strongest tool when someone copies your name or logo.
